BuildMyBudget — Money stuff, made simple

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. When you upload bank statements, we process your transaction data (dates, descriptions, amounts) to provide budgeting and categorisation services.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your financial data is used solely to provide BuildMyBudget's services: transaction categorisation, budget tracking, insights, and goal progress. We never sell your data to third parties.

3. Data Security

Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We use row-level security at the database level, meaning your data is fully isolated. Even our team cannot access your financial data without your explicit permission.

4. AI Processing

We use AI (Anthropic Claude) to categorise transactions and generate insights. Transaction descriptions are sent to the AI for categorisation but are not stored by the AI provider or used for training.

5. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can export or delete all your data at any time from Settings. When you delete your account, all data is permanently removed.
